I came home today to find Kung Fu Panda on television. I’m not one for cartoons, but for some reason this movie caught my attention. The movie was about a naive Panda bear who had not realized that he was called to be a Kung Fu Warrior. The Panda bear found himself in a position to fight a villain who threatened to take over all of China. The villain was a peacock. The peacock started his quest to reign over the land early in the Panda bears life. He killed off the Panda bears family. The Panda was really young when his parents died, however, another animal came along to raise him. As his life progressed, he met other animals that became like family. The Panda realized that regardless of his past, he couldn’t let that stop him from who he was to become.
Yep, you have already figured it out! Stop letting things from your past impact your character! Stop letting things from your past hold you back from your future! Stop letting things from your past hinder who you become! We are not children anymore! Yes, we have all had these crazy life experiences. Whether we were abandoned as children, our father/mother decided they didn’t want to stick around, we were abused, or we grew up in extreme poverty, all of these things impacted our life. However, stop using them as a crutch or an excuse to why you can’t get yourself together now! Life is what you make it! Take ownership of your life and stop with the blame game. As an adult, it’s no one’s fault but yours! If you are 30+ years old, still talking about how you are angry with your father for not being around while you were growing up, please let it go! Take into consideration that if your dad had you at 16 years old, he really wasn’t equipped to raise a child. He was still a child himself. My mom always told me and I believe it until this day, “IF PEOPLE KNEW BETTER, THEY WOULD DO BETTER”! I’m not telling you that ignorance makes it justifiable, but it does provide a reasonable explanation. How long will you let your past hinder you from your future? We are all destined for greatness, but how long it takes for you to get there is up to you! Panda bear had to realize that he had a calling on his life. Each of you were created with a purpose. Your purpose is not for you to constantly reflect on the negative experiences of the past. Instead, let those experiences be your guide towards destiny. We know that everything happens for a reason. Own it, accept it and move on!
Thought of the day: GOD had a plan in mind for your life before you were conceived. No one knows why the process for some can be more traumatic than for others, but its YOUR EXPERIENCE! Own it, accept it, and let it be a guide towards greatness!
